DESFIGURACIONES ESPACIALES

Una desfiguración altruista de los espacios políticos y geográficos.
¿Se imaginan ustedes poder conformar estados a su antojo y derribar fronteras por arte de magia?
En esta colección he tratado, con la ayuda de un mapa de tamaño considerable y unas tijeras, despejar mis dudas sobre si un ciudadano, presumiblemente normal, es capaz de hacerlo. El ejercicio es fácil: destripar los territorios sin tener en consideración sus culturas, lenguas, fronteras naturales y no naturales, etnias, conflictos y todo lo que el espectador pueda o quiera imaginar, de esa manera, otro tipo de estados florecen y otros desaparecen tal y como los conocemos (alfa y omega). Un ejercicio que a lo largo de la historia se repite y del cual no somos conscientes, o sí. Para culminar la obra he querido enmarcar cada uno de los pedazos de mapa y sumergir al espectador en un nuevo espacio donde pueda y quiera imaginar un nuevo conflicto, unas vacaciones o un nuevo lugar donde pueda encontrar la tierra prometida, si es que decide encontrarla.
Como referencias e inspiración particular para dibujar esta colección he tomado como ejemplo algunos de los hechos que a lo largo de la historia se han producido y que definen la propia fragilidad de estados e imperios:

Tratado de Tordesillas (1494), la conferencia de Berlín, celebrada entre el 15 de noviembre 1884 y el 26 de febrero 1885, el armisticio de Mudros, 30 de octubre de 1918 donde se produce la abolición del sultanato otomano, 1 de noviembre de 1922. La Línea Durand (1893), el Tratado de París (1783), el Tratado de San Lorenzo (1795) , el tratado de Mersen (870), el Tratado de Windsor (1175), la Paz de Westfalia (1648), el Tratado de Fontainebleau (1807), etc…etc…etc…

SPACE DISFIGUREMENTS

An altruistic disfigurement of political and geographical spaces.
Can you imagine being able to shape states as you wish and magically knock down the borders?
In this collection I have tried, with the help of a considerable size map and scissors, to clear my doubts about whether a citizen, presumably normal, is capable of doing it. The exercise is easy: gutting the territories without taking into account their cultures, languages, natural and non-natural borders, ethnic groups, conflicts and everything the viewer can or wants to imagine, in this way, other types of states flourish and others disappear such and as we know them (alpha and omega). An exercise that throughout history is repeated and of which we are not aware, or yes. To complete the work, I wanted to frame each of the pieces of the map and immerse the viewer in a new space where he can and wants to imagine a new conflict, a vacation or a new place where he can find the promised land, if he decides to find it.
As references and particular inspiration to draw this collection I have taken as an example some of the events that have occurred throughout history and that define the fragility of states and empires:
